Very painful and unprofessional lobe piercing experience. I opted to get a single second piercing done with a needle as it’s more hygienic and my other side was already done. I thought it would be quick and relatively painless. After she shoved the needle through, she couldn’t get the piercing in. It took her at least 5 min of struggling, yanking my ear around, and then having to shove the needle back through to get the piercing in. My ear was bleeding like crazy. I got in the car after and there was blood in my hair, neck and lobe. Extremely painful experience. Will not be recommending anyone to go there after this. Absolutely terrible!

My cousin and I came in for piercings yesterday. I was getting a simple lobe piercing and my cousin was getting her septum done. The lady we were with seemed to be rushing even though there was no one else in the store at the time. She did my lobe first and when she was done, I told her that because my other lobe already had a hole, I’d like to put the second earring in the already existing hole to avoid losing it. I never asked her to do it for me but she went along and did it anyway. She struggled with the earring and kept getting it caught on her glove. When I left the salon, my left ear hurt more than the right (the right one was the one I got pierced that day). THEN the lady pierced my cousins septum CROOKED and when she went to a different piercing place the next day, they told her that it was done terribly. The lady didn’t check to see if my cousin had the right anatomy for the piercing and didn’t make any marking to make sure it was even. And it was $95 for each of us. $95 for one lobe piercing is very overpriced.

I love Rainy and the girls at Downtown Merle Norman! The service is always fabulous and we always have a great time with lots of giggles! I get my nails done, pedicures and waxing here and highly recommend them!

I had the most unprofessional experience at Merle Norman from my very first phone call there. I seen they were advertising UV lashes on their Facebook page and website and that it can help with ladies that have allergies with regular lash extensions so being someone that has allergies, I called to make an appointment and I SPECIFICALLY said I would like the uv lashes, I said I would like mega volume and the lady on the first phone call could have cared less, she was extremely rude and unprofessional but I just brushed it off, she said she booked my appointment so the following Saturday I went to my appointment and the lady that booked my appointment either didn’t listen or care or both because when I got there Saturday morning, the lady that was there wasn’t trained in UV lashes and she said we could reschedule my appointment for the following Monday because they had a tech coming from BC that is trained in it so I rescheduled my appointment for Monday. When I got there the tech said she would be doing my lashes and the other lady would be shadowing her, which was fine I understand that they need to train a tech for the services they advertise for and she said the tech they had there that knew how to do UV lashes wasn’t there anymore, what she didn’t tell me was that this lady that isn’t properly trained would actually be doing my lashes. The tech from BC asked me what lashes I wanted and I told her mega volume cat eye, she said okay cool. She started doing my lashes and then passed it onto the lady that was training and she would come in periodically to check her work but then she left the salon, so this lady that isn’t properly qualified to do the UV lashes and had told me on the Saturday before that she wasn’t qualified to do UV lashes was now doing my lashes on her own, she was told to keep lashing until 6 and then she would be done, which was 3 hours from when I got there. At 6pm she took the tape off and I looked at my lashes and I was so upset. My lashes are not what I asked for, I have a classic set of lashes. I even showed the tech what my previous lash lady used and a picture. After 3 hours I had a classic set done by someone that said she wasn’t qualified to do UV lashes. If you no longer have a tech employed at your salon to do UV lashes, be honest with clients. Had I known this is how my appointment was going to go I wouldn’t have wasted my time. I felt like I was lied to the entire time just so the salon could make a buck. I’m extremely upset and disappointed and I will never be back.

I love this store and these Merle's Girls! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is professional but also relaxed and comfortable. I have shown up fully done up or sporting a ponytail and sweats and either way felt completely at ease .This is my one stop shop for waxing, nails, pedicures, make up and skin care products as well as beauty advice. I have been a client for over 25 years.I am loyal to this store because they have earned my loyalty with 25 years of great service. Thank you Downtown Merle Norman!

Merle Norman is very professional and clean! The staff always welcome you as you walk through the door and they are always willing to help! All the employees are well rounded and all have helped me and my friends and family in the past! From makeup to services they seem to love their job! Plus they are locally owned and a woman ran business!
